[22/10] Pyrmont Bridge Display

2005 Pyrmont Bridge Display

Motorcycle Awareness Week was kicked off with the Pyrmont Bridge Display on Saturday 22nd October 2005.

The Pyrmont Bridge Display day went extremely well and with plenty of general public walking over Pyrmont Bridge we had lots of people obtaining motorcycle awareness.

Riders were seen as just ordinary people, not something strange, several magazine photographers cruised quietly through and the MCC did two radio interviews from the Bridge.

Thank you to Oroadsports for organising the details and thank you to those clubs who attended and put on a display. A BIG thankyou also to all the volunteers from the Christian Motorcyclists Association who made setup and running of the day so smooth.

Clubs and corporates in attendances in alphabetical order included:

We had an impressive display of bikes from Liverpool HOGS who had a major turnout of their club members as well as Australia Post who had a massive umbrella, brand new postie bikes, complete with posties and a huge poster featuring ‘8 ways to protect your postie’ on display.

The prize-winning safety message displays were from Bikers Anon (best presented safety message), there was an excellent display from Ducati Owners Club on tyres (most impressive safety message) and the quirky interactive display from Dykes on Bikes (most interactive safety message). The DOB display involved sitting on a pink bicycle with your head inside the display boards to bring the images up close and personal and was a really innovative idea – definitely a winner! It made you laugh and take it seriously at the same time.

Special mentions go to: MotorCycle Accessories Supermarket (individual award vouchers & Rate & Win Survey voucher), Coles Myer (Rate & Win Survey vouchers) & Australia Post LPO Business Operations (Rate & Win 1.5L Bottle of Red Wine)
